Born in 1947, Petros had a dream of emigrating to Canada, but stayed to take care of the family’s farm near Filoti, while his younger brother left for Canada instead. He almost gave up the farm, suffering from debt, but everything changed for him when he met his wife Mary in 1974. With her help, he opened up a tavern, providing it with fresh produce from his own farm in 1975, creating a beloved gathering place for his family and a host of curious travelers. The tavern closed its doors in 2010. Petros passed away in 2023.
