Born in 1683, Anoussa was the daughter of Konstantin Kokkos, the town judge of Potamia. Raised in a house marked by justice and resistance, she carried her father’s fire and became famous later all over Naxos for following her heart. In secret, she fell in love with Giabatis Barozzi—the son of their sworn enemy. Their meetings were stolen moments of peace in a world turning violent. When war came, she chose love over loyalty and became a legend and symbol for the power of love.
